Top Tips For Janitors
As a janitor you will find that cleaning is a repetitive process. When we do a job over and over again we want to find ways to make it interesting and effective. When talking to professional janitorial services in Mississauga, these are some of the top tips that they have used.
Cleaning Tip #1 – A separate toilet brush
One big tip is to make sure that you are using a separate toilet brush for your toilets and one for the rest of the bathroom. This will reduce the amount of contamination that can happen from germs moving onto other areas of your cleaning. You would be surprised how much bacteria ends up on a toilet brush especially when cleaning a public toilet.
Cleaning Tip #2 – Forget the old mop and bucket for a new spin on cleaning
A great idea is to buy some microfiber cloths which are washable and reusable. This way you can give your floors a really good clean without using too much water, it will save you time in the future and it costs a lot less.
Another great idea is to invest in a steam mop which can kill up to 99% of the germs on your floors and give them a really good clean. This way you don’t need to use so much elbow grease or product and also, they are super easy to use!
Cleaning Tip #3 – Old toothbrush for cleaning grout
Grout is a really hard area to get clean and it can be really time consuming. An old toothbrush actually makes a great tool, apply some baking soda to the scrubber side and then get in all those gaps. You will find that your grout will look almost brand new and you won’t have to spend hours on it.
Cleaning Tip 4 – Don’t be afraid of the vacuum
A lot of people really hate cleaning and then they actually avoid using a vacuum cleaner because it is so tedious. The problem with this attitude is that vacuuming is one of the most important aspects of your cleaning routine. We are talking about a microscopic level here; when you vacuum your surfaces, you are removing so much of the harmful bacteria and microorganisms that cause disease. A good tip is to vacuum every single day or at least twice per week, it needs to become part of your routine!
